Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger has started his own label and his first signing is Vancouver, Canada’s Theory of a Deadman. 604 Records is the new label founded by Chad and Jonathan Simkin. The debut release will be Theory of a Deadman’s self titled release on September 17. Theory of a Deadman recorded their debut at Vancouver’s Greenhouse Studios with Kroeger and Joey Moy (Nickelback, Default) co-producing. Drummer Joey Jordison of the hard rock band Slipknot, is planning to release a side project this summer. Slipknot is composed of nine Des Moines-area natives known for grotesque masks and extreme metal music. The band they started in an Urbandale basement in the mid-1990s has captured two Grammy nominations and sold millions of compact discs around the world. Jordison has teamed up with Tripp Eisen of Static-X to form Murderdolls. They’ll release their debut album, “Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls,” on Aug. 20. Having a song on the successful “Spider-Man” soundtrack hasn’t gone to Corey Taylor’s head. Actually, “Bother” has deflated the Slipknot frontman’s ego… or superego, as it were. Taylor has forgone using Superego as the moniker for his now-unnamed side project, who hope to release their debut in late summer or early fall, according to a Roadrunner Records spokesperson. Eminem insists that his new album, The Eminem Show, due out June 4 on Interscope/Aftermath/Shady Records, is not like his previous efforts, despite the style of the album’s first single, “Without Me.” The single is currently Number 43 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Saliva have finished pre-production work on their third album and will enter Bearsville Studio in upstate New York later this month to record the follow-up to last year’s Every Six Seconds. The new set, titled Back Into Your System, is slated for a mid-August release. According to frontman Josey Scott, the group has written and will record eighteen songs, with about twelve making the album’s final cut.
