Bad Religion will be heading out on the road with fellow punk rockers The Offspring (playing their hit record Smash in full) and Pennywise later this summer for what’s sure to be a kickass US tour.
The Offspring returns to the road after a four-year North American hiatus with a new tour, the California punk veterans said. The trek kicks off on May 15 in Nashville and will wrap July 18 in Pomano Beach, Fla. The Offspring released their eighth studio album, “Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace,” last June. It debuted and peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.
Splinter, the eagerly-awaited new album from The Offspring, will be released by Columbia Records on Tuesday, December 9. The first single from Splinter, “Hit That,” is the #1 most added track at modern rock and rock formats this week. Splinter is The Offspring’s 7th album and is produced by Brendan O’Brien – who worked with The Offspring on Conspiracy Of One and has helmed projects by Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine, Korn, and many others – and features legendary drummer Josh Freese (the Vandals, A Perfect Circle) on each of the album’s 12 tracks. “After seven albums, it… Read more »
After thrashing stages for 15 years and selling more than 25 million pop/punk albums, The Offspring are thinking about calling it quits – eventually. “If the next album is something we’re not happy with and things have gotten tired and old, maybe that’ll be it,” bassist Greg Kriesel told the Bakersfield Californian. “I give it five more years.” The Orange County-based band’s sixth full-length album, “Conspiracy of One,” was released last November, but has only sold about 1 million copies. New York – The Offspring is the latest act to sign on for the 2005 Vans Warped Tour next summer. Beyond the California rock act, which is making its first Warped appearance, the 11th annual trek will also feature the Transplants, Thrice, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. Dates and venues will be unveiled next month. It is unknown if the Offspring will be touring in support of a new studio album. The Offspring has announced the name of their new drummer. He’s Atom Willard, formerly of the punk act Rocket From The Crypt. Willard will appear with the band on their fall tour, with dates to be announced soon. Original drummer Ron Welty departed the Offspring earlier this year to devote more time to other projects. The new Offspring album, titled Splinter, arrives on December 2. Welty left before the band began recording Splinter, so the drums on the album were handled by A Perfect Circle’s Josh Freese, who has also played drums on albums by Evanescence, Staind, Puddle Of Mudd,… Read more »
