Incubus Responds To Former DJ Royalty Arbitration Claim

Just about six months after former Incubus deejay Gavin Koppel filed for arbitration in regard to past royalties, the band has filed a motion with the Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking what is known as “declaratory relief,” reports Rollingstone.com. By seeking declaratory relief, the band is looking to clarify its duties and rights on a 1999 royalty settlement reached with Koppel. The band also hopes for a protective order seeking to keep private the financial details of its 1999 settlement with Koppel, known then as DJ Lyfe. Koppel filed the suit on January 16 with the American Arbitration Association,… Read more »

Incubus Sell Their Souls While Giving Away Cars

Should Incubus fans be wary of the band’s current corporate-sponsored tour? If they listen to guitarist Mike Einziger, maybe. “We signed our souls to the devil,” the guitarist said at the band’s Inglewood, California, stop on the Honda Civic Tour. Of course, Einziger likes to joke around. Actually, Incubus, who have experienced an unusually organic rise to rock’s upper echelon, are touring behind sponsorship dollars to benefit their fans. “We are coming into really big rooms now, so what happens is the ticket prices kind of skyrocketed,” singer Brandon Boyd explained. “We were able to keep our ticket prices low,… Read more »

But before they took to the stage, their So-Cal neighbors, Hoobastank, warmed up the Key with a thunderous half-hour set. The foursome had no problem filling up the arena with their… Read more »
