Alien Ant Farm frontman Dryden Mitchell remains overseas recovering from serious back injuries suffered in a bus accident in Spain last week. The impact fractured his C2 vertebra, which is likely to require surgery, according to a DreamWorks Records spokesperson. Alien Ant Farm have canceled all remaining May and June performances due to injuries the band sustained in a bus accident Wednesday on tour in Spain. In addition to the WHFStival, a radio-sponsored festival scheduled for Sunday in Washington, D.C., the band has withdrawn from festivals in Indianapolis, Dallas, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Atlanta and Norfolk, Virginia, as well as dates with the Color Red, according to a DreamWorks Records spokesperson. Alien Ant Farm Injured In Bus Accident


Alien Ant Farm’s tour bus collided with a truck in Cáceres, Spain, early Wednesday morning (May 22), resulting in the bus driver’s death and the band sustaining minor injuries. The members of the band were taken to a nearby hospital, roughly 200 kilometers west of Madrid, according to a Dreamworks Records spokesperson. Singer Dryden Mitchell sustained back injuries, guitarist Terry Corso broke his ankle, bassist Tye Zamora injured his foot and drummer Mike Cosgrove entered the hospital with cuts and bruises as a result of the accident. Songs by Sum 41, Alien Ant Farm, Default and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor as well as a collaboration between Jerry Cantrell and members of Nickelback and Saliva are being considered for the upcoming “Spider-Man” movie soundtrack. The 2001 Warped tour came to a relatively subdued close on Sunday (August 12) in front 15,000 mosh-pit friendly fans at the Phoenix Plaza in the Detroit suburb of Pontiac, Michigan.
