One of the better bands that this, “Scene,” has well, for lack of better words, seen, has been Underoath. Underoath brought a legitimacy to the once cringe-worthy term of, “Screamo,” by adding their own unique elements to it and delivering some of the loudest and heaviest rocking live performances I’d ever seen. Between Aaron and Spencer, you have two great vocalists that can mix between singing, screaming, and sharing harmonies and dual vocals back and forth. “They’re Only Chasing Safety,” still to this day resonates and remains one of the best albums in their genre, hands down. Underoath have announced that they are breaking up after fifteen years as a band. They will be embarking on a farewell tour in 2013 as well as releasing an anthology LP November 6th on Solid State Records. Tonight’s episode of The Retrospect will pay tribute to the band; tune in at 7pm ET only on idobi Radio.
Former Norma Jean drummer Daniel Davidson has been announced as Aaron Gillespie’s replacement in Underoath.

Underoath is taking to the road for a seven-week tour beginning next Thursday (Feb. 22) at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pa. As previously reported , the trek comes on the heels of drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie’s tour with his side project, the Almost. The group will be sharing the stage with Taking Back Sunday through April 7 at the House Of Blues in Atlantic City, N.J.
