Biggie and Tupac, Jay-Z and Nas, Axl and Kurt, Oasis and the bulk of humanity… some musical beefs are sublime, and some are ridiculous. The latest, between Weezer and Saves the Day, is a little bit of both. When reports surfaced that Weezer wrangled Jim Henson’s Muppets for their new video, “Keep Fishin’,” last month, the “emo and puppets” premise gave their former opening band a case of déjà vu. Nearly two months ago, Saves the Day – who opened for Weezer in February – wrapped a video for their second single, “Freakish,” featuring (surprise, surprise) a supporting cast of… Read more »
For any young band, the idea of performing before thousands on their first arena tour is a daunting proposal. When the heroically titled Saves the Day were tapped as openers for Weezer’s North American tour, which begins February 5, however, they pushed the butterflies aside and focused instead on rising to the occasion. “Every tour that we go on, we hope to be more comfortable as a live band,” bassist Eben D’Amico said. “Just being able to do our thing onstage that much better. We’re always honing and perfecting what we do.” While the Princeton, New Jersey-rooted quintet may come… Read more »

The four-piece pop-punk outfit, comprised of Eric Dangerfield on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Rayman on bass, Xelan on lead guitar and backing vocals, and PC3 on drums, was a last-minute addition to the festival lineup after several artists, including The All-American Rejects and The Distillers, were forced to cancel their appearances. Despite being newcomers to the scene, The Paradox seized the opportunity, delivering an electrifying performance that set the perfect tone for… Read more »

Celebrating his 23rd birthday today, February 8, the singer-songwriter has returned with his latest offering, “When The Music Stops.” Co-produced alongside blink-182’s Travis Barker and Brian Lee, “When The Music Stops” arrives via Barker’s DTA Records and is the first preview of jxdn’s sophomore album. A title for his forthcoming album has not been revealed, but it is expected to drop later this summer. Commencing with a delicate guitar strum that persists across the track, jxdn‘s ethereal vocal delivery envelops listeners, gently drawing them into… Read more »
