Marilyn Manson Reciprocates Divorce

No big surprise, but apparently Marilyn Manson is more of a Halloween guy. At least, that’s the holiday he cited as the date on which he and estranged wife Dita Von Teese went their separate ways, disputing her claim that the glam-Goth twosome uncoupled on Christmas Eve. Manson counter-filed for divorce last Friday in an attempt to block Von Teese from being awarded spousal support, although the burlesque performer did not request it when she filed her own divorce petition Dec. 29. Her heavily made-up hubby has also stated that he wants Von Teese to pay her own attorney fees,… Read more »

Marilyn Manson hit with divorce papers

After meeting in April 2001, and dating for four years, it seems the December 2005 marriage between shock rocker Marilyn Manson and burlesque dancer Dita Von Tesse was the real deal. But just over a year of wedlock was enough for Von Teese, it seems, as she filed divorce papers late last month in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. The New York Post reports, Von Teese had been planning to divorce the 38-year-old musician for many months, but had been unable to locate him for some time and had even moved out of their home without him knowing.… Read more »

Bono To Receive Honorary Knighthood

Irish rocker and humanitarian Bono will become a knight of the British empire — but the U2 frontman won’t be called “Sir.” Bono, 46, will receive his honorary knighthood from the British ambassador to Ireland, David Reddaway, in a Dublin ceremony shortly after New Year’s Day. The Dubliner, whose real name is Paul Hewson, won’t be entitled to use the title “Sir” because he is not a national of Britain or the Commonwealth of former British colonies. A spokesperson said the singer was flattered by the honor and hoped it will help him open diplomatic doors in his campaign for… Read more »

U2's the Edge Wants Kin Out of Papers

DUBLIN, Ireland – The Edge, the lead guitarist of U2, is fighting an Irish newspaper in court over its report into a relative’s serious illness that forced the Irish rock band to delay the start of its next world tour. A High Court judge in Dublin agreed Monday to a two-week delay to the hearing of rival lawsuits between The Edge and the Sunday World newspaper. The Dublin-based tabloid identified the relative and condition the person was suffering in a front-page story Jan. 8, but withdrew the report from later editions when The Edge’s lawyers immediately obtained a temporary injunction.… Read more »

They endured unpredictable weather on a Spanish plain for their “Vertigo” video and traffic on the streets of New York for “All Because of You,” so U2 thought they were keeping it simple by shooting their next clip in a Dublin, Ireland, theater. That is, until they were put at the mercy of the venue’s Christmas production of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” The group shot the video for the track “Sometimes You Can’t Make It on Your Own” on Monday at the Gaiety Theater, according to a band spokesperson. FCC Cites Stern, Bono for Indecency

Federal regulators opened a new front in their crackdown on offensive broadcasts Thursday, saying that almost any use of the F-word on over-the-air radio and television would be considered indecent. The Federal Communications Commission overruled its staff and said an expletive uttered by rock singer Bono on NBC was both indecent and profane. It marked the first time that the FCC cited a four-letter word as profane; the commission previously equated profanity with language challenging God’s divinity. The FCC on Thursday also proposed maximum fines for the broadcast of the Howard Stern radio show and for a program on two… Read more »
