Britney Spears, Kevin Costner and Halle Berry are getting stars on Hollywood’s celebrated Walk of Fame. Glenn Close, Anthony Hopkins, John Singleton, Ted Turner, Journey and 17-year-old twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will also get the sidewalk honor next year. Lawyers for Britney Spears and the Skechers footwear company have settled competing federal lawsuits over a deal for the pop star to market a line of roller skates and accessories, court documents state. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Spears filed a $1.5 million breach of agreement lawsuit against Skechers in December, claiming the Manhattan Beach-based company failed to pay her adequately for marketing a line of skates and accessories. Skechers has filed a countersuit against Britney Spears, claiming fraud and breach of contract. The footwear company alleges the pop singer delayed decisions relating to product designs and advertising for Britney 4 Wheelers roller skates and apparel. A Skechers representative says they were “continuously shut down, rejected and ignored.” The complaint says Spears fraudulently induced Skechers into sponsoring her tour as a condition of getting the merchandise license. A man who allegedly stalked Britney Spears is just “an avid fan” and his actions were simply misinterpreted by the pop star, his attorney said in court. Simon R. Hiller told a Superior Court commissioner that his client, Masahiko Shizawa, 41, of Yokohama, Japan, is trying to resolve the matter with Spears privately. Spears claims Shizawa sent her hundreds of love letters and photographs, and tracked her to her homes in Louisiana and Hollywood. Shizawa allegedly wrote “I’m chasing you” on one of the photos.
