US downloads beat CD sales


Music fans in the US are buying almost twice as many singles in digital form over the internet as they are on CDs from stores, according to a report. Some 7.7 million tracks were bought and downloaded since the end of June – compared with four million CD singles sold, Billboard magazine reported. Courtney Love Turns Herself In On Felony Drug Charges


Courtney Love turned herself in to Beverly Hills police on Tuesday afternoon (October 28) to face two felony drug-possession charges. A warrant was issued for Love’s arrest on October 22 after the Los Angeles district attorney’s office received evidence from police that Love was in possession of the prescription painkillers hydrocodone and oxycodone when she was picked up on October 2 following an overdose. “She was never arrested on these charges, but she was found to be in possession at the time,” Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office spokesperson Sandi Gibbons said. Sharon Osbourne, wife and manager of metal legend Ozzy Osbourne and host of her own talk show, is auctioning off hand-painted molds of her breasts online, according to the Associated Press. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Boarding For Breast Cancer Foundation, or B4BC, a nonprofit group co-founded by professional snowboarder Tina Basich. Ozzy Reschedules European Tour; Sharon Hosts M.A.P. Awards


Ozzy Osbourne has rescheduled his European tour. The trek will now take place in January and February of 2004. The dates were originally planned for this fall, but had to be scrapped when it was revealed that Osbourne was undergoing treatment for a worsening tremor.
