Apple Release Custom U2 iPod


Rock band U2 has cut a deal with Apple Computer to sell custom iPods promoting the band’s forthcoming album. Sources close to the group say the U2 edition of the popular digital music player will come preloaded with the band’s new album, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, along with portions of the Irish supergroup’s 25-year catalogue. Legendary Motown Artist Rick James Passes Away


Rick James passed away this morning at 9:20 AM in his sleep of natural causes at his Los Angeles home, per his spokesperson. He was 56 years old. He is survived by his 3 children (Ty, Rick Jr., Tazman) and 2 grandchildren (Jasmine and Charisma). Last month, he performed his hit “Fire & Desire” with Teena Marie at the BET Awards. Sir Richard Branson offered to buy back Virgin Records, the label which set him on the road to a fortune, from its owners EMI, it emerged yesterday. Glory Days for Springsteen at Concert Box Office


Bruce Springsteen was the top concert draw across North America in 2003 as more than 1.6 million fans paid to take in his marathon shows and musings on the struggles of the working man. According to preliminary data published on Tuesday by concert trade publication Pollstar, the 54-year-old New Jersey rocker grossed $115.9 million from 47 shows to lead the annual rankings. Beatles Items Sell Big on Auction Block


The Beatles again proved their enduring popularity when an auction of several pieces of the Fab Four’s memorabilia, including a rare early concert poster and a program for a 1965 U.S. concert tour, fetched thousands of dollars.
