Alt-metal act Alien Ant Farm is preparing to return to touring for the first time since a bus accident left lead singer Dryden Mitchell with serious spinal injuries more than a year ago. After weeks on the festival circuit, Evanescence are set to embark on their first large-scale headlining tour. Amy Lee, Ben Moody and company will top the marquee on the Nintendo Fusion Tour, a multi-band music-and-gaming fiesta promising to visit 25 North American cities, according to a Nintendo spokesperson. A little over a year since a bus accident nearly prevented him from ever walking again, Dryden Mitchell and Alien Ant Farm are ready to strut their stuff on a monthlong U.S. tour. After a two-year recording hiatus which included injuries sustained in a serious bus accident, Alien Ant Farm will release their sophomore effort truANT on August 19. “These Days,” the band’s first single from truANT, will go to radio in July, and the group will tour this fall in support of the new album. Beatles fans received a double treat Tuesday with announcements of a new world tour by Paul McCartney and the release of a DVD of a 1994 jam session by McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. McCartney said he plans to include several Beatles songs in his first British tour in a decade, scheduling 22 songs from his Fab Four days for each two-and-a-half hour arena concert. Music Industry Targets Workplace Downloaders


The recording industry directed its anti-piracy campaign at large companies in the United States, Europe and Asia on Thursday, warning them that employees are illegally downloading music on company time. Alien Ant Farm will take the stage Saturday for the first time since a bus accident in May left singer Dryden Mitchell with a broken back and injured the rest of his bandmates.
