Nikki Sixx's New Clothing Line


Former Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has revealed plans to unveil a new line of rock ‘n’ roll clothing titled N.Sixx, and it will hit shopping malls and outlet stores in April. The first wave in his partnership with Dragonfly consists of shirts, panties, and baby tees which are inspired by Sixx’s tattoos. Sixx has been concentrating on his new band, Brides Of Destruction, and writing a new book, The Heroin Diaries, which will be portrayed in a VH1 special.

Viacom Reports Better 4Q Earnings


Viacom Inc., owner of the CBS network and Showtime movie channels, reported a fourth-quarter profit Wednesday, turning around a year-ago loss thanks to strong growth in its cable network and TV businesses. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations, but investors reacted cautiously amid concerns about the company’s leadership. Viacom Post Solid Quarterly Profit


Viacom Inc., owner of CBS, MTV and the Paramount movie studio, reported a solid third-quarter profit Thursday, helped by strong advertising revenues at the company’s broadcast, cable, TV and radio properties. For the three months ending Sept. 30, the media conglomerate said net earnings were $640 million, or 36 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $190 million, or 11 cents per share, a year earlier. Stones to Roll Live on HBO


Cable TV made some music news Wednesday, with HBO locking up a live performance of the Rolling Stones in January, and VH1 signing Pink, David Bowie and Santana to perform at the 2002 “VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards” Oct. 15. BMI And Viacom Finalize Cable Music Royalty Deal


Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) today announced that it has reached an agreement on final license fees for the public performance of the BMI repertoire on Viacom’s cable television networks. In announcing the pact, John Shaker, BMI Senior Vice President, Licensing, said: “We’re pleased that we have been able to reach an equitable agreement with Viacom on behalf of BMI’s approximately 300,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers.
