Having recently wrapped up a tour with Every Time I Die and letlive, Pittsburgh’s Code Orange Kids are returning to the studio to record one of 2014’s most anticipated albums. idobi Howl writer Alex Rudisill spoke with the band’s drummer/vocalist Jami Morgan about where the hardcore group is heading next.

Shaky Knees festival takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, from May 9 – 11 and they’ve got a pretty solid lineup this year. Headliners will be The National and Modest Mouse (with one more still to be announced). The Gaslight Anthem, Portugal. the Man, Dropkick Murphys, Conor Oberst, Cold War Kids, Jason Isbell, and Trampled By Turtles are just a few of the other bands playing, making it one of the more varied lineups I’ve seen announced so far. Tickets will be available here on January 17th, starting at $150.
South By So What!? is back in 2014 for its biggest and best year yet. The festival will take place at Quiktrip Park in Grand Prairie, TX on March 14-16th. The festival features a wide variety of alternative, pop-punk, metal, and hardcore bands including Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice & Men, The Devil Wears Prada, The Story So Far and Comeback Kid.
The 33rd annual CMJ Music Marathon will take place in New York City October 15th-19th. The event, which spans across 80 venues, aims to break new artists as well as feature established artists. Acts playing the festival this year include You Me At Six, The Sounds, The Dismemberment Plan, NGHBRS, Echosmith, Braid, and more.
