Wall of Voodoo Guitarist Dies


Wall of Voodoo guitarist Marc Moreland has died from complications after he received a liver transplant. He was 44. Moreland died last Wednesday in France, said his brother Bruce, who used to play bass in the band. Moreland was hospitalized for four months in France while visiting his wife. He then returned to the Los Angeles area and again traveled to France because he did not have health insurance. He received a liver transplant but his body rejected it after five weeks and he died. Limp Bizkit’s Put Your Guitar Where Your Mouth Is tour wrapped up Monday (February 11) at the Guitar Center in Hollywood. Despite a cancellation and a police arrest, approximately 500 people in three cities have put their guitars where their mouths are so far, and more than a dozen have gotten to jam with the rhythm section of Limp Bizkit. The San Francisco-area date of Limp Bizkit’s “Put Your Guitar Where Your Mouth Is” guitarist search set for Friday (January 11) was cancelled due to problems obtaining the proper permits, according to the band’s website. Legal deal resolves fate of Grateful Dead guitars


A long-running dispute over four famous guitars that once belonged to the late Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia has been resolved, with the instruments to be divided between remaining band members and the man who crafted them, lawyers said Tuesday. R.E.M. Guitarist's Air-Rage Trial Collapses


The air-rage trial of American rock star Peter Buck collapsed after the judge discharged the jury, court officials said Tuesday. Buck, guitarist for renowned rock band R.E.M., was due to begin the second day of his trial for an alleged drunken attack on a plane in April. No reason was given for the dismissal of the jury.
