Wall of Voodoo Guitarist Dies

Wall of Voodoo guitarist Marc Moreland has died from complications after he received a liver transplant. He was 44.

Moreland died last Wednesday in France, said his brother Bruce, who used to play bass in the band.

Moreland was hospitalized for four months in France while visiting his wife. He then returned to the Los Angeles area and again traveled to France because he did not have health insurance. He received a liver transplant but his body rejected it after five weeks and he died.

Bruce Moreland said his brother’s body will be cremated and that Moreland wanted his ashes spread in the ocean off Ensenada, Mexico.

The Moreland brothers formed Wall of Voodoo in 1978, but they didn’t hit it big until the release of “Mexican Radio” in 1984.
