Tommy Lee thinks the media is making a mountain out of a molehill. So, he’s making a pebble out of Kid Rock. The Mötley Crüe drummer wasted no time in addressing his well publicized brawl and subsequent ousting from the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, insisting that while he has been painted in the press as the instigating party, it was fellow Pamela Anderson ex Kid Rock who initiated the throwdown.
“Yeah!!….here I am minding my own biz having a great time with my friend Criss Angel (magician) and watching the MTV awards in the front row saying hello to all my friends,” he wrote of the untelevised, though since streamed, scuffle on TommyLee.tv.
While he claims utter ignorance as to what sparked the fists of fury from the person he dubbed Kid Pebble in his post, Lee did give a virtual play-by-play–and de facto master class in celebrity name dropping–of the seemingly mundane events leading up to the unprompted battle royale.
“Pamela comes and sits on my lap who I love and adore…and also say hello to my friend Travis Barker and his wife!…and I get a text from another friend P. Diddy and he says come sit with me…and he’s sitting with Miss HOT Megan FOX so I go over and sit with P!”
At that point, he says, Keys began her “amazing” performance and the “stupid-ness” kicked into gear.
“I get a tap on the shoulder from Kid Pebble…I stand up and embrace him with a semi hug and say ‘Hey dude…What up’?? He punches me in the face…..well if ya wanna call it that!?…more like a bitch slap!…….Wuss!!”
Not one to shy away from a challenge, Lee says he attempted to retaliate and also offered apologies to Keys for having nothing to do with the “timing and disrespect” of the fight.
“I go to knock this jealous country bumpkin the f$%k OUT…and before I can have a meeting with my fist and his ugly ass mug…security guards…grab me and haul my ass outta the award show!
“The rest is paper work and bulls–t!”
In the former, at least, it seems a little more so for Kid Rock. The “country bumpkin” got cited by Las Vegas police shortly after the incident for misdemeanor battery for his violent outburst. Lee, meanwhile, spent his postshow hours making the party rounds with Angel.
While Rock has yet to comment on the brawl, Lee also took time out to offer his condolences not only to Keys but to some of the evening’s heavy hitters, in an attempt to smooth over relations with the powers that be.
“I would like to apologize to Alicia and George and MTV for the disrespectful bulls–t caused by a piece of s–t called Kid Pebble!! Much Love always!!…..Tommy!!”
