The Maine Drops Surprise Album With Career-Spanning Reimagined Demos

The Maine is always full of surprises, and this one might just be their biggest yet. On a random January Wednesday night, the Arizona five-piece dropped dyed (2008-2023), a compilation album of reimagined demos. Each track honors the band’s nine album eras.

Vocalist John O’Callaghan noted, “Revisiting the past can stir up all sorts of feelings. Nostalgia, fondness, gratitude, and on and on and on. We felt everything in between when we uncovered these songs from over the last few decades, and sincerely hope they stir up anything of the sort for you while listening!”

So, whether you need to feel like you did when you were young or vibe with The Maine‘s love in real-time with their most recent records, these reimagined demos transport you to the sonic places you crave to travel.

This weekend, The Maine is celebrating their fifth installment of 8123 Fest.

On January 17, ticket holders can see Diva Bleach, Veronica Everheart, GrayscaleBad Suns, and a surprise guest. Plus, The Maine will do full play-throughs of both 2015’s American Candy and 2023’s The Maine.

Then, on January 18, festivalgoers can watch Practically PeopleCLIFFDIVERHellogoodbyeReal FriendsCharlotte Sands, and The Starting Line. Then, The Maine will headline with a “Career-Spanning Set.” With nine albums under their belt, it will surely be a beautiful celebration.

Aside from the two primary festival days, the band has a full run of events planned from January 16-20. These days include 8123 pop-up shops, side shows, after-parties, and more. Excitingly, the band is opening up their own bar, The 8123 Social Club & Cocktail Lounge, where fans can grab a drink and a bite to eat.
