Ahead of their spring tour, senses have unleashed their shimmering new single, “diamonds on your dagger.” Arriving in tandem, the duo—comprised of vocalist/guitarist Madison Taylor and drummer Nick Sampson—has announced their forthcoming EP, i’m still breathing, which will drop on March 14 via Hopeless Records.
“Our new single ‘diamonds on your dagger’ is a visceral analogy for something that is so jarring and negative in the moment, but something beautiful comes out of that struggle,” the duo jointly shares. “This song pushes us into new territory sonically and has an explosive energy that pulls you into it from the first beat and doesn’t let up until the very last second.”
They continue, “When writing this song, we had fun exploring the duality of two things being true at once; a dagger is this sharp and dangerous weapon, and diamonds are this beautiful and strong rare jewel. Something dark and bad may have just happened, but you overcame and are better for it on the other side. It truly takes you right through the middle of the journey of finding out what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
