As the world returns to some version of normalcy, let’s all remember the lessons we learned along the way. Our eyes were opened to social injustices and political corruption after we saw peoples’ lives get turned upside down. Now that we are returning to the hustle of life, we can’t pretend these issues have just gone away.
Los Angeles based band, Wavy Trees is reminding us that we need to stay focused on what matters in their new song “Nobody Cares”. They put it simply by stating, “Everyone has a story but not everyone is in the best chapter of their story, so ‘Nobody Cares’ is a call to all to take a second to help each other in these fast times we are living in.”
At first you get sucked into the song by killer drums and vocals straight out of the opening scene of your favorite movie. The guitar riffs give it that edgy rock sound and you’re sure to get the lyrics, “everybody knows, but nobody seems to care” stuck in your head. Once you’re locked in you really grasp the heart of the song. Wavy Trees describes it further, saying, “‘Nobody cares’ is a call out to everyone to start CARING! When it comes to things like politics, loved ones, environmental issues, & specifically the homeless situation in LA / America. It’s calling out for people to start doing what is right & helping each other whether it’s a stranger or a loved one”.
“Everyone has a story butnot everyone is in the best chapter of their story,so ‘Nobody Cares’ is a call to all to take a second to help each other in these fast times we are living in.”
We’ve gone through an incredibly unique situation where we all went through a tragedy globally. Not one person on this planet avoided the pandemic. Add in the issues people face in their personal lives and we’ve all had quite the weight on our shoulders. Wavy Trees continues, “People are all going through things & we just need to stop for a second and give people our time to help them through what they are going through.”
They give a solid call to action for us all, “It seems like we are all too distracted by our televisions & cellphones to care about anything other than ourselves. Let’s look up from the distractions & be there for each other!”
On top of an amazing song, they gave us a great music video. In talking about the video they say, “The real story behind the video is, instead of thinking about how crazy someone looks doing something or judging anybody, we should accept everyone for however they are no matter what they look like, sound like or whatever situation they are in. We can’t all just work all our lives and get lost in the system that leads to nothing! We gotta take the time to be weird, do what we want and be there for each other.”
Fun Fact about “Nobody Cares”:
“The video was filmed at Jason’s house in East LA – and Ron really captured the essence of the song. We secretly thought the video made no sense at all but it ended up turning out great & we are stoked on it – Hope y’all enjoy!”
