Pop Star Timberlake Eyes Duet With Britney Spears

The cute superstar couple that sings together, stays together.

That’s the plan of ‘N Sync heartthrob Justin Timberlake, who wants to duet with his pop princess girlfriend Britney Spears, according to Rolling Stone magazine.

Timberlake, 20, told the magazine he is helping 19-year-old Spears move away from her hugely popular bubblegum pop in favor of a harder sound. When the timing is right, he envisages them recording together, a collaboration he vowed would be “huge.”

“I want it to be somethin’ new that they haven’t heard us do, that they didn’t think we could do. I feel like we still have artistic growth to show, and maybe after that, then I’ll think about it. It definitely would be a spectacle. It would be huge,” he told the magazine.

For the time being, ‘N Sync is on a U.S. stadium concert tour promoting its new album, “Celebrity,” which was released on Tuesday.

Rolling Stone’s ‘N Sync cover story is due to hit newsstands on Friday. The magazine will be available with six different covers. A group shot issue will be mailed to subscribers, while newsstand issues will feature each member of the pop quintet.

Timberlake and Spears have known each other since their pre-teen days in the Mickey Mouse Club, a breeding ground for future media stars. In the Rolling Stone article, Timberlake described Spears as “the cream of the crop.”
