On the twelfth day of Christmas, idobi gave to me All Time at Six.
Dear All Time Low and You Me At Six,
Hey guys. Long time fan, first time letter-writer.
I want to start off with saying you’re all amazing. No, seriously. I’ve listened to both of your bands for years, have seen you multiple times, and generally just flail around when people mention any of you. It’s been an honor being your fan, and I look forward to many more years of screaming along at your shows.
However, I do have one tiny request for you, my Christmas wish for this year: Can you please collaborate on something?
Look, I know you’ve been on the same tours before. But I’m trying to forgive and forget that both times you toured together, you skipped Canada. I’m not sure why. We have poutine, for crying out loud! Do you know how much I’d pay to see a special episode of Max and Matt’s Munchies (with special guest Jack Barakat) as they try Smoke’s Poutinerie? A lot. I’d pay a lot. Plus, we have a handful of Nando’s locations, if any of you British boys are feeling homesick.
But I know that touring can be expensive and whatever, so if you can’t make it to Canada, that’s fine–you win some, you lose some, I guess. What you can do instead is the thing that you all do best: make beautiful music. Together, obviously. Remember how much fun it was to make a video for “A Love Like War” with Vic Fuentes, or “Bite My Tongue” with Oli Sykes? And Alex, remember how fangirls-and-boys the world over screamed when you joined YMAS on stage for “Fresh Start Fever” at Reading in 2014? I can’t be the only one who would cry into their breakfast if you recorded a collab like that.
All I’m saying is that you both already have songs with the word “reckless” in it, so you should be brave enough to put it together as a party song or a medley or something? Make this fool’s holiday perfect with a collaboration. I’ll let you decide all the details.
Lots of love,
Sam
