Atlantis, Paradise Island, one of the world’s most popular resort destinations, was once again the host location for one of the industry’s most celebrated music events. On Thursday, more than 5,000 Atlantis guests and local residents participated in the taping of “*NYSNC Live! The Atlantis Concert,” the Thanksgiving entertainment special scheduled to air on the CBS Television Network, nationwide on Nov. 23 at 10 p.m. EST.
Audience members rocked with the band to hits including “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “Pop,” “This I Promise You,” “Gone” and “Bye Bye Bye.” Additionally, special guest star and country-singing sensation Tim McGraw joined the band for a tribute to America in a never-before performed medley of standards including “Stand By Me,” “Fire and Rain” and “Lean on Me.”
“It’s exhilarating to have *NSYNC at Atlantis for this special event,” said Jerry Inzerillo, executive vice president for Sun International. “This is truly a perfect match. Thanksgiving is a time for family and we couldn’t think of a better way for Atlantis, which is the ideal family destination, to send a message of togetherness and thanks during the holiday season.”
The special showcased Atlantis, Paradise Island, which celebrates the wonders of the sea and is inspired by the myth of the lost continent of Atlantis. The resort, which is the perfect place for families to reconnect with each other and find solace on an island paradise, boasts 2,300 guest rooms, 38 restaurants, bars and lounges; an innovatively designed casino; an impressive collection of luxury boutiques and shops, and extensive meeting and convention facilities.
Atlantis features the largest marine habitat in the world, second only to Mother Nature and is home to 50,000 live sea animals in exhibit lagoons and displays, including The Dig, a maze of underwater corridors and passageways providing a journey through ancient Atlantis. Other amenities include fresh- and salt-water swimming pools, amazing water slides hidden in life-sized Mayan ruins, the Mandara Spa and Sports Center, a world-class marina, the Club Rush Teen Center, The Discovery Channel Camp for kids and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
