Ahead of their spring headline tour kicking off next month, Movements have unleashed their melancholy new single “Where I Lay.”
“‘Where I Lay’ is one of those songs that was tough for me to write,” vocalist Patrick Miranda candidly shares. “Lyrically, it’s really emotionally vulnerable, and it had me revisiting places with my writing that I hadn’t explored in a while. It’s for anyone else out there who feels like they’ve never quite fit right in the world. This one is for the outcasts.”
Honing their signature bombast, “Where I Lay” unveils a subdued sorrow, with Miranda’s softened delivery amplifying the track’s exposure. The weight of grief and resignation bleeds through each line: “I guess in the end/My colors don’t mix/White in the knuckles/Blue in the lips.” Listen to “Where I Lay” below.
Movements are currently prepping for their spring headline tour with support from Citizen, Scowl, and Downward. See their full list of tour dates below, and purchase your tickets here.
