Lance Bass says that when *NSYNC regroup and head back into the recording studio early next year, they will be working on the most important album of their career. “This one definitely is going to be a career record,” says Bass.
Bass explains that the individual members of *NSYNC have proven that they can be successful on their own-so the pressure will be on them to prove that they can recreate the magic of their previous massive sellers, 2000’s No Strings Attached and 2001’s Celebrity. “It’s gonna be a lot of hard work,” admits Bass. “We’re all writing together, and differently, so I don’t know where this album’s gonna go, but it has to be a career record, because if we come back with nothing that’s just an ordinary *NSYNC album, people are gonna be like, ‘OK, that was normal-next!’ We really have to blow people away.”
Bass adds that the album will also have to take into consideration all of the new fans that the respective members of the band have gained during the past year. “We’re very excited, because everyone did go off and had success in whatever they did. Joey [Fatone] on Broadway, J.C. [Chasez] and Justin [Timberlake] doing their solo albums. And it’s going to be nice to come back and incorporate all of those new fans that would have never listened to *NSYNC, but would listen to a J.C. album or go see Joey on Broadway. Now we have to make a record for all those fans.”
