Courtney Love has confirmed plans to film a dramatic recreation
depicting the life of alternative rock figurehead Kurt Cobain are
underway.
The late rock star’s widow has dished the dirt on the project,
which is currently still at the preliminary stages of production,
saying the proposed biopic would be based on the noted (and approved)
biography ‘Heavier Than Heaven’ by Charles R. Cross.
In an Internet posting, Love reveals how producers have two
actors in the running to play the grunge legend, who committed suicide
in 1994 aged 27, while revealing the actress to play Love herself has
already been chosen.
“I can’t name names but you’ll all be happy. I personally
think ‘me’ is a little too pretty, but I’ve talked with her and she
assures me I’m full of sh*t…”, she writes. “He is a choice between
two actors. One, everyone thinks of as sweet and perfect and
unassuming, but who does have a lot of rage in him, the other wears his
rage well…”
Gus Van Sant’s “Last Days” was released in 2005 to mixed
reviews, and is widely considered to be based on the final weeks of the
life of Cobain.
