Following the release of her March single, “Safehouse,” Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Kami Kehoe is entering her new era with the arrival of “DOPAMINE.” The track is set to appear on her forthcoming Kandy EP, due out July 18, via Coup D’Etat Recordings and 10K Projects.

“I wrote ‘DOPAMINE’ when I was at a pretty low spot in my life. This song really healed something in me, and I hope it can do the same for anyone who needs it,” she shares.

Of the EP, she adds, “I was going through a breakup while writing this EP. Each song helped me get through my heartache. I was able to pull from my own experiences from my perspective and there’s the main concept of this entire EP is that even when something is good or feels good doesn’t always mean it’s good for you.”

She concludes, “I use a lot of metaphors relating to candy, drugs, and all these ‘wrong’ things that may feel right sometimes, and compared it to how I felt with my past relationship. I hope this EP can help anyone who needs it, like it did for me.”
