Hiwire, a provider of targeted advertising solutions for live streaming media, will begin to support MP3 format streams, and is the first ad insertion company to work with all three major streaming formats, including Windows Media, RealPlayer, and MP3.
“With the ability to insert ads into MP3 streams, Hiwire is the only company that can reach individual listeners in all of the major streaming formats, including Windows Media and RealPlayer,” said Warren Schlichting, chief executive officer for Hiwire. “As broadcasters and content providers look for the best way to generate online revenue through advertising, Hiwire gives them the targeting and reach that they need.”
The company also announced an exclusive ad targeting deal with MusicMatch, inventor of the world’s first all-in-one digital music jukebox. MusicMatch recently added MP3 radio to its Jukebox software and will be the first company to utilize Hiwire’s MP3 ad insertion technology. Hiwire will be the exclusive provider of targeted ad insertion services for MusicMatch’s MP3 radio channels, with over 2.5 million aggregate tuning hours each month. Hiwire will serve as the exclusive third party rep for all audio ad sales.
Schlichting says, “MusicMatch adds a large and dedicated listening audience to the Hiwire Ad Network. Hiwire’s MP3 targeting system serves as another example of how we can help any broadcaster deliver targeted ads in any streaming format.”
