Godsmack is nominated for a Grammy for the instrumental “Vampires.” The band’s frontman Sully Erna revealed he isn’t only pleased with his band’s nod. He’s also impressed with Linkin Park, which scored three Grammy noms with its debut album Hybrid Theory.
“I’ll tell you who I’m really happy for as young as they are and doing as well as they are is Linkin Park,” he said. “I think their stuff is really good. At first it took me a second to get what they were doing, but I think they pulled it off in a really clever way considering this rap-rock thing has kind of been on its way out. I think they do it really well, and I’m excited for them.”
Erna added, “There’s a lot of new bands coming up and doing some amazing things and that’s just one band I’ve noticed I think is doing a great job.”
Godsmack, which recorded “I Stand Alone” for The Scorpion King soundtrack, is writing songs for a new album. Meanwhile, Linkin Park is heading out on the Projekt Revolution Tour starting Tuesday (January 29) in Colorado Springs.
