Frank Zummo, iconic pop-punk drummer best-known for his role in Sum 41, is ready to tell his story—the full story. Zummo announced his forthcoming book, Unbreakable Rhythm: My Journey Through Music, Wellness & Mental Strength, with music journalist Jason Pettigrew.
The book, set for release on November 11 via Modern Drummer Publications, came to life in 2023 during Zummo’s School of Rock Workshop. Pettigrew, who attended the event, chatted with Zummo backstage with his recorder on, and the introduction was born.
Additionally, the book features a foreword from Dhani Harrison, and interviews with Motley Crüe‘s Tommy Lee, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman, and beyond.

“A lot of musicians write books to share their stories, from their creative lives to their crazy tour tales to more scandalous moments. This is not that book,” Zummo says.
“From the beginning, my mission was seeing how these workshop events were saving lives first-hand, motivating and inspiring people. I do five to seven events a year—a small amount compared to the sheer size of the world. I want to be able to have this message be around the world. That’s why this is in a book: Because I can’t be everywhere I want to be,” he adds.
Zummo concludes, “The goal is to put what I do—and the message—into a book to inspire people, motivate them, and supply them with the resources to get help. And then take all this stuff and intertwine it obviously with stories of what I’ve experienced.”
Additionally, Zummo is releasing an EP, Feels, ahead of the book to serve as its soundtrack. You can listen to it on October 24.
