The skirt and top Faith Hill wore on the cover of her multiplatinum Breathe tops the list of celebrity items up for bidding on eBay as part of QVC’s auction benefiting the MusiCares Foundation, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’ charity program.
At press time, the white Joseph skirt and black Prada top were going for $2,550. Other items up for grabs are a copy of Rolling Stone autographed by Britney Spears, a pair of Ray Charles’ sunglasses, and guitars autographed by Pete Townshend, Sting and Les Paul.
QVC will also sell top CDs by artists including ‘N Sync, Baha Men, Backstreet Boys and U2 for $9 beginning on Monday. Proceeds from the sale of the CDs, which were donated by the artists and their labels, will also benefit MusiCares, an organization that offers emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs to people in the music industry.
Paul Simon will be honored Monday evening as MusiCares’ Person of the Year during a television special hosted by “Spinal Tap” star Michael McKean. Artists including Elton John, Moby and Macy Gray will salute the folk-pop legend at the Los Angeles ceremony, which will air live on QVC at 9 PM PST.
