Released November 20 of last year, Enya’s A DAY WITHOUT RAIN has sold over 7 million copies worldwide, 2.6 million of them in the U.S. The album has also spent 43 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s New Age charts. “Only Time,” the first single from A DAY WITHOUT RAIN, is reaching new fans daily almost 11 months after its initial release, and its video has just been added to VH1’s play list.
After spending the first half of 2001 traveling worldwide in support of her album, which has hit the Top 10 in 21 countries, Enya has returned to the studio and recorded two songs for the soundtrack to “The Lord of the Rings.” The highly anticipated film of the J.R.R. Tolkien novel is scheduled for worldwide release on December 19. The Reprise Records soundtrack is set for release on November 20.
