Eminem will star in an upcoming fictional film, based loosely on his life, to be filmed by Academy Award winning writer and director Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential, Wonder Boys).
The untitled Universal project is scripted by Scott Silver (The Mod Squad), and according to sources close to film, it will start shooting in the late summer or early fall. The film will tell the tale of a troubled Detroit youth, who becomes a hip-hop star.
Eminem is also expected to contribute new material for the film’s soundtrack.
