A month after David Letterman said he had started a record company, Ellen DeGeneres has followed him with an announcement that she has created her own label.
On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, her syndicated talk show, DeGeneres on Wednesday introduced a song by Greyson Chance, a 12-year-old from Oklahoma (with an uncanny resemblance to Justin Bieber) who has been an Internet sensation recently for his version of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi.”
When Chance finished his performance at the piano, DeGeneres said: “He inspired me to start a record label called eleveneleven. He is my first artist. We are making a record together. How about that?”
DeGeneres is not a total stranger to the music business, of course; she has been a judge on American Idol this season.
