The members of R&B trio Destiny’s Child, who have long battled rumors that group leader Beyonce Knowles wants to ditch the group, each plan to release solo albums, according to the latest issue of Rolling Stone.
However the magazine said the women were in no rush.
“We’re not even planning on recording those albums until, like a year from now,” it quoted Knowles as saying in a cover feature.
For the time being, 19-year-old Knowles and her colleagues Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, both 20, are focused on promoting the third Destiny’s Child album, “Survivor,” which was released in the United States on May 1. The group is planning a summer tour.
Knowles, whose father manages Destiny’s Child, said reports that she had a $3 million solo deal were just rumors.
“As soon as you get successful, they want to make you Diana Ross,” she said, referring to the Motown diva who quit the Supremes for a successful solo career.
