Denver Officials Warn Phish Fans To “Stay Off The Grass”

A goofy looking mammal and a prairie dog
(No shade, we love you Trey)

Phish fans really aren’t the type that you’d expect would heed a warning to stay away from nature but that’s what Denver officials are counting on.  Camping for the band’s Labor Day shows at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City Colorado has been canceled due to local prairie dogs carrying plague-infected fleas. The popular “Shakedown Street” where fans sell food, clothes, souvenirs, and connect for 12-step meetings will not be happening either as it’s usually held on a dirt road near the stadium. Parking on dirt lots has been restricted as well and the venue is arranging shuttles to carry concert goers to and from nearby auxiliary parking. Roughly 3,000 fans daily would have been camping on the now restricted grounds and must find other accommodations, which might not be available. While many made jokes on social media aimed at Phish Phamily, the fact that this upsets the show-going experience for fellow music lovers is actually a huge bummer. Stay safe Phish fans and remember “Keep Off The Grass”.
