Per Cimato, the band has new demos and was offered to play at the When We Were Young Festival, though the reunion never came to fruition. Cimato clearly has an interest in connecting with old fans and possibly returning to music. Check out his official statement below.

One commenter inquired as to if it’s possible to replace Hacikyan and continue on with Cute Is What We Aim For. Cimato notes, “Shaant owns the rights and the name to Cute Is What We Aim For, and he has no interest in giving that up. That is something he feels he has control over.” The artist even explained how he’s offered money to take the rights back, but “[Hacikyan] would never give up control of the band name.”

While it’s unclear what’s next for the band, if anything at all, many fans have offered encouraging words to Cimato via social media.

One user shared, “You can change the name and I promise, us day 1 fans will still be here for it.”

Another joked, “Curse of Curves (Fred’s version).”

One more TikToker dropped lore, sharing, “My claim to fame is that I got into a Twitter fight with Shaant about feminism in like 2010 lmao.”

Overall, many comments echo the same sentiment expressed by one user, “Wow.. always wondered why CIWWAF was like the only band that didn’t come back. Such a shame, I loved you guys. Still listen to the old stuff all the time.”
