Child's Death At Tommy Lee's Home Ruled An Accident

An autopsy report on a 4-year-old boy who drowned Saturday during a party at rocker Tommy Lee’s home ruled the death an accident, according to the Los Angeles sheriff’s department.

The boy, Daniel Karven Veres, was found face-down in the shallow end of the pool at Lee’s Malibu home, according to department spokesperson Deputy Roberta Granek. Two adults tried to resuscitate the child, who was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

According to Reuters, the boy’s father, James Veres, told a Los Angeles-area radio station Sunday that more people should have been hired to supervise the swimming children, and said his son’s death was “inexcusable.”

While police could not confirm the nature of the party, it is believed that the event was a birthday party for Lee’s oldest son, Brandon, who turned 5 on June 5 (Lee’s youngest son, Dylan, is 3 years old).

“This is a tragic accident,” said Lee’s publicist Beth Katz. “Tommy Lee is devastated and has no comment at this time.”
