Britney Spears is asking her fans to bring new, unwrapped toys to her December 5 concert at Madison Square Garden for the children of the victims of the September 11 World Trade Center attack and of the Flight 587 crash on November 12.
Members of the New York Fire Department (NYFD), New York Police Department (NYPD), Nassau County/Freeport County Fire Department, Suffolk County/Lindenhurst Fire Department, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be in front of Madison Square Garden on Seventh Avenue (between 31 and 32 Streets) beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET December 5 to collect the donated toys. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Spears, who celebrates her 20th birthday on Sunday (December 2), is donating $1 per ticket sold from every concert on her North American tour to the children of the New York City police and firefighters lost at the World Trade Center. Spears is scheduled to perform her hit single “I’m A Slave 4 U” on CBS’s The Late Show With David Letterman on December 3. The following evening (December 4) Spears will perform “I’m A Slave 4 U” at the Billboard Music Awards, which will air on Fox at 8 p.m. ET.
