Marking their first new music of the year, Belmont has launched their new album cycle with the leading track, “Liminal,” which also serves as the title track of their forthcoming full-length. The three-piece’s new record, Liminal, is scheduled to arrive courtesy of Pure Noise Records on April 12. You can preorder the group’s 12-track, third album here.

Opening the accompanying music video, vocalist Taz Johnson, multi-instrumentalist Brian Lada (drums, guitar, bass, programming), and guitarist Jason Inguagiato escape into a Victorian world created by a virtual reality headset. As Johnson sings, “You told me that the faster I fall/The faster you’ll crawl to watch me undo/I should’ve known that I would/Fuck this up again/Too busy running from these demons.” As quickly as the group was transported to the regal Victorian ages, they are then simulated in a Beastie Boys-esque ‘90s hip-hop world before entering their Attack Attack! 2008 metalcore era. And to answer everyone’s burning question, there is plenty of crabcore in Belmont’s Attack Attack! era.

“Much like life, our thoughts are a series of never-ending transitions with no start or finish, a cycle we never escape,” Johnson shares of the new track. “Learn to find comfort in what never was because it will always be.”

He continues, “‘Liminal,’ as the title for our third record, is meant to be an escape to a different world. It’s a nostalgic longing for a place that doesn’t really exist, but you wish you were there.”
