Avril Lavigne Wants To Get Intimate With You

Canadian pop superstar Avril Lavigne is coming back home. Hot off the tails of her North American 21-city mall tour, Ms. Lavigne will be dropping by Toronto’s MuchMusic headquarters on Friday, May 28 at 8 p.m. ET, for an Intimate & Interactive special.

Lavigne has visited MuchMusic several times in the past, twice as a special guest on Much On Demand, several feature interviews and two MMVA appearances. However this is the her first live Intimate & Interactive special. The 90-minute event, hosted by the ever-dreamy George Stroumboulopoulos, will feature a one-on-one interview, as well as live performances by Lavigne of songs from Let Go, as well as tracks from her highly-anticipated sophomore album Under My Skin.

Lavigne’s 2002 debut, Let Go, was met with critical acclaim when it sold over 14 million copies worldwide and was nominated for eight Grammy awards in 2002 and 2003. The 12-track album Under My Skin is due out on Tuesday, May 25, just three days before Lavigne’s visit to I&I, so fans can expect to hear a lot of her new tracks being performed in the Much environment. “Don’t Tell Me,” the first video from Lavigne’s upcoming album is currently in high rotation on Much and has been dominating radio stations across Canada. As for the rest of Lavigne’s upcoming album, there are songwriting collaborations with former Evanescence member Ben Moody and fellow Canadians Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida.

Just before the I&I airs at 8 p.m. ET Much will air a pre-show, Countdown To Intimate & Interactive with Avril Lavigne, at 7 p.m. ET, which will feature previously-aired Avril Lavigne interviews, performances and videos. If you’re looking to secure wristbands to the show, visit the Much website for more info.
