Rap-rock band Air Dubai are finally giving us a taste of new material in the form of “Afterglow”, a brand new song from the band’s upcoming full-length Be Calm. And what an impressive taste it is. The song features a perfectly fitted chorus sung by Dia Frampton alongside verses from Julian Church and soulful vocals from singer Jon Shockness. Indie cred? Check. Silversun-Pickups-esque instrumental vibes? Check. Competent and quick rapping? Check. All the soul of an R&B hit? Check. I’m pretty sure “Afterglow” has it all, and it feels like the sound that Air Dubai has been looking for. It’s safe to say this song will be on every “Windows-Down-Best-Summer-Ever-Chill-Vibes” playlist this summer.
Be Calm will be released through Hopeless Records on July 1st. Check out Air Dubai on the Vans Warped Tour all summer long, and tune into Warped idobi Radio to hear more coverage of the band.
