3 Doors Down Host Auction for The Better Life Foundation

New York – Multi-platinum, Grammy nominated 3 Doors Down will host a dinner and auction for their new charity- The Better Life Foundation (TBLF). The event takes place Saturday, December 18th at the Grand Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi and along with 3 Doors Down, will feature performances by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tracy Lawrence, Shinedown and a few surprise guests.. Floor seats and tables have been selling fast at $100 per person and include dinner, drinks, and the concert. Balcony seats for the concert only are $50 and can be purchased through ticket master or the Grand Casino. The live and silent auctions of the evening will feature an array of priceless items- including the KFC Dale Earnhardt Jr. racing uniform (worn only at one race), a concert get away to Atlanta for 2 (travel, hotel tickets and M & G for 3 Doors Down concert), various other sports memorabilia and entertainment items.

Launched by 3 Doors Down earlier this year with a homecoming concert at the Mobile Civic Center where they raised $90,0003.00, The Better Life Foundation’s mission is to make a positive change in the lives of children in need of food, shelter and medical assistance, and to enhance the lives of children and young adults with special needs. The Better Life Foundation will work to raise money each year that will be distributed to organizations and hospitals that the band believes will help them fulfill their mission so these children are offered a better life in which they can develop their potential, achieve their goals, and, become caring and responsible adults. The Foundation’s motto “Changing The World,One Life At A Time”.

To date over sixteen charities have benefited from TBLF. They include: Alabama Baptists Children’s Homes and Family Ministries, Center for The Prevention of Child Abuse, Gulf Coast Women’s Center for NonViolence, Habitat for Humanity, Hancock Medical Center Foundation, Hope Haven, Lighthouse Services, Mulherin Custodial Home, New Horizons of NW Florida Inc., Our Daily Bread, Ronald McDonald House of Mobile, South Baldwin County United Way, Inc., The Children Advocacy Center, Wilmer Hall, United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile, and USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital.

Winning the Radio Music Award last week (10/25/04) for Song of The Year, Modern Adult Contemporary Radio, “Here Without You”, 3 Doors Down, from Escatawpa, Mississippi, have sold over 11 million records in the US alone since debuting in 2000 with The Better Life. Their triple platinum certified sophomore CD Away From The Sun debuted in the Top Ten of Billboard’s Top 200 Albums Chart and remained on the charts for more almost 2 years. Away From The Sun spawned two #1 singles last year including (according to Nielsen) the #1 most played song in the country “When I’m Gone” and the critically acclaimed “Here Without You.” The band will release their 3rd album, entitled Seventeen Days on February 8, 2005.
