Yours Truly has channeled a new era in their latest single, “Sour.” The Australian act is also sweetening the deal for fans with the announcement of their forthcoming album, TOXIC!, which will be released on August 16 via UNFD. With aggressive vocals and catchy instrumentation, “Sour” showcases vocalist Mikaila Delgado’s adeptness in maneuvering between sounds.

Beginning with an intoxicating guitar riff, the track quickly ramps up. Delgado’s voice captures the essence of sultry anger that builds into a guitar breakdown. With soft, coy whispers of “sour” peeking throughout, it elevates the feeling of being in control after being powerless. Ending with a primal scream of, “You wanna be the listener?/I really hear you,” it ties together a darker era for the band.

Their LP will feature a 10-track collection that illustrates their dynamic abilities to capture raw emotions that we usually bury deep inside. Their pivot into a darker sound should come as no surprise to fans. Earlier this year, Yours Truly released the single “Call My Name,” which gave listeners a taste of their devious diversion from their classic pop-punk sound into something heavier.

Fans are certain to hear “Sour” live during the group’s forthcoming North American tour alongside Enter Shikari and You Me At Six. Grab tickets here and find out where they’ll be stopping this fall.
