Trash Boat has surprised fans with their new single “Liar Liar,” via Hopeless Records. It’s a screaming, hard-hitting anthem about the issues stemming from certain new media that cause problems in society. The messaging coincides heavily with their only other release of the year “Delusions Of Grandeur,” which was released in February and discusses overindulgence in life and how we need to detach from it. The band is currently on tour with Don Broco in the UK through December.

Singer Tobi Duncan says the song came together through, “frustration surrounding modern ‘podcast bro’ culture.” He elaborated that, “People that talk in a completely ham-fisted way about things they know nothing about or just generally woke or anti-woke things to maximize their ability to create an engaging thumbnail and video title.” Listeners can hear this sentiment at the top of the song with Duncan screaming “Miserable/Cowardly/Shut the fuck up/Get away from me,” before the rest of the band drops into a heavy breakdown to get the song ramped up.

The British act has otherwise been quiet this year, but the new year incoming, plus their current tour run, could mean more new music in 2024. To see them on their current tour with Don Broco and Ocean Grove, grab tickets here.
