If you don’t have tickets to HFStival in Washington DC, it might be time to grab some. The fest might be the last time in a long time to see The Postal Service. Per a press release, the days after HFStival mark “the beginning of an indefinite hiatus for the band.” And frankly, lead vocalist of both The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie, Ben Gibbard deserves a rest after the long string of international co-headlining tour dates.
Gibbard shared the note, “As we bring the Transatlanticism / Give Up Tour to a close, I want you all to know that getting the opportunity to perform these two albums live has been one of the greatest thrills and honors of my entire life. On behalf of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service; Thank you so much for coming out and singing along. We will see you all again somewhere down the road.”
Death Cab For Cutie has one show in place for 2025. This includes an appearance at Rockin’ On Sonic in Chiba, Japan on January 5.
HFStival is taking place on September 21 and will feature The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie as headliners. Plus, you can catch Incubus, Bush, Liz Phair, Jimmy Eat World, Girl Talk, Violent Femmes, Tonic, Filter, and Lit. Secure your tickets here.
