The Maine Go Full Cowboy In “how to exit a room” Video

The Maine have shared a cinematic new music video for their recent track, “how to exit a room” today. The Arizona five-piece is gearing up to release their self-titled, ninth studio album this summer. With several fascinating and conceptual content ideas, and the extremely clever release date of August 1st (8123), fans are eager to say the least. So far The Maine has released two singles, “how to exit a room” and “blame” from the upcoming record. They also gave us a beautiful cover of Taylor Swift‘s “Cruel Summer” last week.

The video is entirely in black and white, showcasing John O’Callaghan effortlessly riding a horse across a grandiose desert landscape. He sports an eye-catching, glamorous sequined blazer and a black cowboy hat. The visual cuts quickly back and forth between close-up shots of O’Callghan’s face and the beautiful scenery he is riding through. Later we see him in a dark room, underneath a spotlight, singing to the viewer. It feels like a scene in a movie.

Vocalist John O’Callaghan spoke on the new music video, sharing: “There’s a lot of things you don’t know about me. Me riding a horse fast as hell probably wasn’t on your “The Maine music video” bingo card, but I did just that for our brand new video for “how to exit a room”. I admit, it’s ridiculous, but we’ve always had a vision of this video and we finally brought it to life. From now on when I feel like leaving a party, this is how I’ll leave”.
