As we eagerly await the arrival of their self-titled album on June 14 via Pure Noise Records, The Early November has offered another preview with their anthemic new single, “The Fool.” Their latest release arrives following “What We Earn,” which dropped in March.

Inspired by The Fool card in tarot, which embodies the spirit of embarking on a hopeful and joyful journey into new beginnings The Early November offers a thought-provoking twist in their new release. They juxtapose this traditional interpretation with a reflection on the pitfalls of modern distractions, particularly media and technology. This theme is portrayed in their accompanying music video, where the lead character is depicted walking through serene landscapes yet engrossed in their phone, symbolizing the missed opportunities for a genuine connection to the world around them.

“This song taps into the repetition of cycles we go through on the journey of life, and sometimes how we’re so ingrained in these cycles we don’t even notice when an opportunity is there,” frontman Ace Enders says of the new release. Check out “The Fool” below.

This summer, The Early November is scheduled to tour with Spitalfield, Hellogoodbye, Hit The Lights, and Cliffdiver. The tour will kick off on June 22 in New York City and conclude on July 19 in Boston, MA. Fans can grab tickets to see The Early November live here.
