What do The Devil Wears Prada and Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker have in common? They are both heavy hitters in the alternative and metalcore spaces. Today, they joined forces on a brand new version of “Salt” for The Devil Wears Prada’s new deluxe album, COLOR DECAY

Incorporating Rodriguez’s vocals throughout the song perfectly matches the band’s dominant backup screams. Since the release of Dayseeker’s record, Dark Sun, the vocalist has been regarded as one of the best in the entire genre. He holds his own amidst the song’s explosive arrangement, bringing a whole new texture and fieriness that is both surprising and satisfying.

It seems like this collaboration is just as special to Rodriguez as it is for fans. Sharing a snippet of the song on Instagram, the Dayseeker vocalist thanks The Devil Wears Prada for inviting him on the track.

“I’ve loved @tdwpband since I was in high school so getting the chance to sing something with them was sincerely a dream come true,” he begins. “I love this song and genuinely love them as people. Check out the new version of ‘Salt’ on all streaming platforms!”

If you want to catch The Devil Wears Prada on tour, you’re in luck! The band will play shows in North America this fall with fellow metalcore royals Fit For A King. Aptly named the Metalcore Dropouts Tour, both bands will perform for fans on both sides of the country.
