The Acacia Strain have built their career on pushing the limits of depravity and devastation, getting heavier and heavier with every release. But with their upcoming new records Step Into The Light and Failure Will Follow, the band are going even further than usual on both ends of the spectrum.
One example on the obliterating end of that scale is “CHAIN”, a 71-second piece of rip-and-tear destruction. Featuring an appearance from Chamber’s Jacob Lily, it is the epitome of darkness, taking all of the hardest elements of downtrodden hardcore, forcing them through a meat grinder and leaving you to feast on the gritty remains. It’s dark as it gets, and a wonderful taster of the hell that is to come.
Vocalist Vincent Bennett had this to say about it, plain and simple:
“‘Chain’ is possibly the hardest song we have ever written. Shout out to Jacob Lilly.”
Step Into The Light and Failure Will Follow will both be released on May 12th via Rise Records.
