We Are The In Crowd‘s lead vocalist Tay Jardine has released her debut solo single, “Bad News,” brimming with melancholy pop sonics and a hint of heavy rock.
On Instagram, the beloved artist shared more about the single and her upcoming EP. She shares, “This song was the first I created for this EP, and it always felt significant. It stands out sonically from the rest of the songs on the upcoming EP and pays tribute to my roots.”
She continues, “Lyrically, it’s about standing up for yourself and recognizing your exhaustion with disappointments, while also reflecting on your own role in it all. It’s okay to feel upset, and I hope this song reminds you that your feelings are valid too. I can’t wait to perform this bridge live!”

Prior to the release, Jardine also shared more about her journey to writing her solo music. On social media, she noted, “Two years ago I started writing music for myself again. Unlocking my past and future at the same time. It’s been a really scary, yet wonderful journey.”
Jardine added, “I decided to release these songs under my own name which makes me feel extremely vulnerable. I’ve never been just Tay before. Not out here in the open, anyway. So I thank you for holding me and encouraging me to do it! I see you. I love you.”
Coming up in October, you can catch We Are The In Crowd at When We Were Young Fest in Las Vegas. The group will be playing Weird Kids in its entirety. Find out more When We Were Young info here.
